Ti-based alloy materials are excellent in mechanical strength. Therefore, it is widely used in structural materials and aircraft. Also, its high biocompatibility makes to extend the applications for accessories and consumer goods such as glasses. Especially its nonmagnetic properties have attracted a great deal of attention in the medical field because it is an implant that can perform MRI imaging and the like. Consumer goods and medical products need to be colored. The main purpose is to improve the design. However, conventional coloring methods have some problems such as insufficient strength, biocompatibility and color variation.
In this research, coloring method by surface fluorine treatment is studied. Fluorine gas is used for surface fluorine treatment. Fluorine has the strongest oxidizing power among all elements. Ti-based alloy materials are covered with a strong oxide layer. However, fluorine can easily be processed even with its oxide layer.
In this study, a commercially available pure Ti plate was surface-fluorinated with F2 gas. The procedures of surface fluorination treatment are as follows. The sample are put in the reactor and set the vacuum below 1 Pa. After that, fluorine gas is introduced into the reactor and reacted at 100 ° C for 1 hour at 1013 Pa. In this study, the washing process after surface fluorination is divided into four. After the fluorine treatment, cleaning, drying and baking were carried out. The coloration of each samples was investigated using spectrophotometer measurement. At the same time, I observed the surface condition of the samples with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), AFM (Atomic Force Microscope), XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy).
After baking, I obtained samples with four different colorations. Currently we are exploring the cause of coloring in this research. Ra (the average surface roughness) and P-V (maximum height difference) of each samples were measured by AFM. There was a fixed relationship between those values and the coloration obtained for each samples. However, we can not explain coloring by only the surface roughness of the samples. Therefore, in addition to surface roughness, we believe that coloring methods of this study may cause coloring. In the future we plan to further investigate the surface composition and crystal structure.

In recent years, there are many traffic accidents by elderly people in Japan. This is caused by a decline in various exercise capacity and situation recognition ability due to aging of drivers. However, traffic accidents are not caused only by older people whose ability has declined. Sometimes careless people cause careless attention. There are also cases of high illegality such as driving by unacquisition by underage and accident by driving after drinking. Besides the driver and passengers, these traffic accidents are also damaged by pedestrians nearby. I have been getting run over by a car as well. Technical approaches to drivers and automobiles have been done for a long time. However, I think the root cause of involvement of pedestrians in traffic accidents is that both cars and pedestrians are in the same space. Therefore, I propose complete separation of cars and pedestrians by embedding roads.
Japan is an island country surrounded by the sea. Besides, more than 70% of the country is mountainous. In other words, the space where people can live is also one of the limited resources. Therefore, effective utilization of the national land is indispensable. The use of overhead spaces such as expressway and multi-storey parking lot is being actively carried out nationwide. However, the use of the underground space is only used in some urban areas such as the subway. So bury all the roads that are stretched all over Japan. By doing so, there will be no more cars in the area of pedestrian life. Even if you buried the road in the basement, the traffic accident will not go away. However, if there are no pedestrians in the vicinity of the accident scene, people who are injured who can get involved can not come out. Also, accidents due to carelessness of a pedestrian such as jumping out can be prevented. You can also use the vacant space by burying the road in the basement.
Earthquakes occur frequently in Japan. There may be danger of collapse on underground roads. However, Japan's drilling technology is the world's top level. That technology is also exported to the world. The collapse at the current subway and tunnel is also robust. Furthermore, if we install a purification device at the ventilation port to the ground, we believe that it will be effective for air pollution caused by exhaust gas from automobiles.

Global warming is a global problem. It is said that the cause is carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas. That would be correct. But I think that carbon dioxide alone is not the cause. In recent years, environmental problems and abnormal weather such as global warming are occurring all over the world. I think that the cause is due to the reduction of the self-cleaning effect of the earth.
For example, it is a decrease in trees due to deforestation and desertification. Trees do photosynthesis. In photosynthesis trees absorb carbon dioxide and make oxygen. In other words, if trees decrease, a vicious circle is created in which carbon dioxide is not absorbed, global warming progresses, desertification advances, and so on. Carbon dioxide is essential for the growth of trees. If carbon dioxide increases, carbon dioxide will naturally converge due to the growth and growth of trees. This is proved geologically. I think that the cause of the placement of the continent is also the cause. The continent on the earth moves over a long period of time. The placement of the continent on the earth today is very unstable. It is because the Arctic Ocean is blocked by the continent. Problems are occurring in the convection current of seawater. It is said that in some scholars the causes of extreme weather in various places are this continental placement.
The new material to separate carbon dioxide is a wonderful thing. It is wonderful to attach the new material to the source of carbon dioxide to reduce the generation of carbon dioxide. However, as long as humans live, carbon dioxide will continue to be discharged. Moreover, the population of the world is increasing. This will increase the energy required, so carbon dioxide emissions will also increase. Reducing the carbon dioxide emitted does not fundamentally solve it. If you want to reduce the total amount of carbon dioxide, you will need an approach to its source. As I said earlier, global warming is a global problem. In other words it is a problem of humanity. I would like to develop technologies and materials that will improve this problem as one of the engineers. However, to overcome this problem it will be impossible to develop technology alone. Cooperation throughout humanity is essential.
